Just finished racing in my first halloween fun run! It was so much fun to see everyone dressed for the race. The weather outside was chilly cold. My toes were numb for most of the race but it didn't rain. I'm not sure if I would of done it, if it had rained.
All week long I debated whether to run in the race or not! I signed up the boys but not me. I tossed and turned all night long. I finally decided to go for it. My foot has been giving me trouble for the past couple of weeks. So, I called my old running partner this morning for a ride and she gladly picked me up!
We ended up arriving early for the race. I wasn't sure how I would do during the race. Like I said it had been a couple of weeks of not running. I did manage in two small runs but I didn't think I would do well during the race. I ended up surprising myself. My feet and toes were numb but I did a great job.
Towards, the end of the race...I noticed my friend "m' was running behind me. I was getting a little bit concerned she was going to past me. I decided to step it up a notch and push myself even faster. Soon, we were neck to neck...Oh, no! I can't let her past me. I decided to break out in one of my full spend sprints at the finish line. I swear it was the closes call ever. I think I past her by two seconds. I know she wasn't to please with me passing her but it made things interesting. I don't think I would of had such a good time: 28:20! It's not my fastes time but it was decent. I really haven't ran much since my half marathon.
After, my race the boys did the 1/2 K race. The boys did an awesome job. Landon ended being in the front of the pack for his age group and Logan came in second place for his group. Landon started off right in the front but I think he started off to fast and had to slow done a little bit towards the end. I'm so proud of my boys. They did GREAT.
Also, the award ceremony. I ended up coming second place for my age group. I didn't think it would of happened. Overall, a great way to start Halloween!
