Cancer Challenge 5k Report
Sorry, about the crazy hair pictures! Okay, now to the race report. I'm so freakin excited about my time. I thought I would have a bad time. Let's back track a little bit. I haven't ran a 5k since last year. Yes, it's been over one year. I had been focused on training for two half marathons but then I ran into all kinds of running injuries. It's been a long recovery plus my knee is still bugging me.
The weather was perfect plus the course was really flat. I forgot to charge up my running watch so I just ran it with all of my heart and mind. I really thought I would be slow. I was so shocked when I round the corner and saw the finished line. It was in the 27:?? on the finish line clock. I did my fast hard sprint to the finished line and my chip time was 27:40. I thought I PR but it's not sooooo. My fastest 5k PR was back in 2009 at War Eagle of a time of 27:26!
I'm going to try to bet my time with another 5k race either next sat or in two weeks. It's so awesome to end on a positive note.
I did come in 3rd place for my age group which is even better! My running buddy came in 1st place for our age group.
Life is good!

Workout Plans
Workout Schedule 5/9-5/14
C.E. Burn Ciruit 1, 2, and 3
Running Tues and Thurs
One hundred push up schedule for week one
150 dips schedule for week one
The rest of the week is shot! I'm going to the temple and a woman's conference in OKC this weekend. I'm not sure if I will have anytime free to workout. The hotel is going to have a pool so I might be able to get some swimming in but I'm not sure. I'm going to double up and work out super hard to make up for the short week.
My arms and shoulders are starting to look really good. I would take a picture but I can't find my memory card reader.
Holding my self accountable!

New Goals
Three months ago, I injuried myself. I'm happy to report...I'M PAIN FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went for a quick run around the church this morning by myself. My running buddy had a conflicting schedule and I decided to head out for a solo run. I decided to keep it short. I spent way to much time setting up the gym for tonight's Enrichment activity which is going to be cruise around the world sampling different food items.
I started off at a great pace and it keep on getting better. Half way thru the run, I realized my knee wasn't bothering me at all. I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited! It's only been three months. I managed to run 3 miles under 29 minutes. It's so freak'n awesome to be whole and prefect again.
I had a over use injury and it's so important for me to learn from this experience. I have to increase my mileage much slower and not get ahead of myself.
I'm not as crazy about running at the moment. Races, seem old and boring to me at the moment. I run 98% of all of my races in Bentonville. I'm so sick and tired it. Hawaii was awesome...I want something different not just the same old; same old.
So, I'm setting up new challenges.
I'm doing the 100 push ups plus 150 dips challenge!
I'm going to start up next monday!
So, for push ups this will be week one schedule:
push ups (10, 12, 7, 7, and max 9) 90 second break
Dips (6,6,5,5, and max 6) 60 seconds break

Hitting It!
I'm so Happy! I decided to keep my weight loss updates off Facebook. I'm sure, I'm driving people crazy with all of my workout routines and weight loss goals. You know the type, people who want to lose weight but refused do anything about it but complained. Plus, I'm not overweight. I don't want people to think I'm obessed with my body because I'm not.
I'm obessed with be healthy and being in my best possible shape ever. You can be in the best shape of your life at any age. I decided to eat whatever I wanted while on our trip and I gained about eight pounds from excesses amounts of sugar. Sugar is evil!
Anyhoo's, I have cut back big time on my sugar intake. I'm now down to SEVEN pounds. I still can't believe. I have full confidence in myself that I know exactly what I need to do to lose the weight from this point on.
I'm eating a high protein diet, low carbs and low fat! Every one's body is different and needs different things. I have to stay away from sugar. My hips will exploded if I'm not careful!
So, I'm finally down to 129 pounds. I have lost seven pounds in less than two weeks.
My goal is to get down to 125 pounds. My lowest weight was 122 pounds but I know that would be very hard to keep that weight. So, I'm shooting to lose close to four more pounds.
I know, I can do it. I just have to stay focused!

It's been a long time!
after two months of dealing from one injury after another. I'm almost back to my old self. My IT Band feel's great, my knee is back to normal but my knee is still slightly bugging me. I would say it's 95% back to it's old self. I had a little bit of sharp pain in my knee this morning while working out. I lost some much of my upper body strength and muscle. I could just cry. I decided to slowly work my way back into a weight lifting routine and easy runs.
This is the plan for this week:
Mon: CE Burn Intervals plus Ab Burner
Tue: Running 3 miles
Wed: CE Burn 1 plus Ab Burner
Th: Running 6 miles
Fri: CE Burn 2
Sat: Turbo Fire Stretch plus long run (six miles????)
Two months ago before I injured myself I was down to my lowest weight since having my first born. I was down 122 pounds. I ended up gaining a ton of weight. I was depressed about my injuries and ate to much crap.
Plus, we went to Hawaii and I gained ten pounds. Those Hawaiian Sun drinks are deadly plus Ted's Bakery didn't help the situation.
So, I came back from my trip weighing 136 pounds.
We have been back for a week and half and I'm down six pounds.
I'm currently, down to 130 pounds.
I would love to get back to 125 pounds.
I'm hoping myself accountable plus avoiding sugar as much as possible.

What not to do if trying to lose weight!
Cutting calories and increasing my calorie burn didn't cause me to loss the weight. It actually caused me to gain weight. I ended up going down to Bodyworks and I talk to the guy at the nurtition shop. He told me I was making serious makes.
1. While running all of those long miles...I thought I was burning tons of calories. Wrong...I wasn't burning carbs, fat, but I was burning off my muscle.
2. I was starving my muscles.
3. I was overtraining and working out too much.
4. I wasn't eating enough protein.
5. I was only eating 1800 calories and I needed to actually eat close to 2500 calories.
So, I cut back on my workout routine. Now, I run three times a week and lift weight three times a week. I drink three protien shakes a day. I use a brand called Nector...it contains no carbs or sugar. I need to consume close to 200 grams of protein everyday. Plus, I had to increase my calorie intake.
The weight is coming off super fast. I'm hoping to be at 120 lbs by next week. I'm not even dieting or trying to loss the weight. It's coming off all on it's own.
We're going to Hawaii next to month to celebrate and I will be running in a half marathon in Honolulu called "Run Like a Diva". I can't wait.
