Two Mom's On The Run...

This morning, I stepped outside with my keys in hand to go running with my friend Meg. My running partner is out of town this week. I was surprised to see my friend waiting outside to pick me up. She decided to surprise me. Wow, what a great way to start off the morning.

We managed to drag ourselves out of bed before the sun was even up. It was dark but getting lighter outside. We decided to be brave and run for seven miles. That's the longest run I have ever done. We decided to take a nice slow pace or it was slow pace for me.

Half thru the run, we had to go up this massive hill. Ouch!! It was a killer. It was so nice, to be able to turn around and go downhill. We ended up kicking some serious butt.

The last mile or two it was getting tough. My hamstring was killing me. I don't know why but it was starting to thorb.

We pushed ourselves hard at the end. Finished it. Seven Miles!!!!!!!!!!! Next week, we will be running eight miles.

So, I'm home alone. Meg dropped me off and Leroy took the kids somewhere. So, I have the morning to myself. Yes!!!!!!

Off to take a nice long shower.

  2. You are really inspiring me! So proud of you (((HUGS)))!!! I'm going to start over with running and do it the right way. I have a tendency to push myself too far too fast and burn out.

I'm planning a short, easy run tonight of 2 miles with my boys in the stroller and my husband on the bike lol. Hopefully I can work myself up 1/4-1/2 miles a week. It will take me awhile to get to 8!

  4. I know I can do it, it's just keeping UP with doing it. I ran a 5K back in June and loved it, there is a 10K coming up here in September, but that is too much too soon.

I did 2 1/2 miles yesterday and felt great afterwards, it really isn't that bad and I love how I feel after also. Took me 25 minutes, so I'm happy :) Tomorrow is another day and another run!

  5. I'm doing a 10k in Sept as well. I'm really worried about it. It's always harder on race day. Good job!
